It's amazing that this dog has more power over our family than the two dogs we have to feed and water every day. Cohen never lets him far from sight. He drags him around most places that he goes. He chews on the corners. If he sets Dog down, he is always sooo happy when he rediscovers him. He has hugs and love for him when he picks him back up. He can't sleep without him. Poor Dog gets so dirty we often have to throw him in the wash. Cohen enjoys throwing him in the washing machine, but it seems he can never wait for Dog to dry. I can't tell you how many times I've taken a soaking wet Dog to Cohen in his crib so that he can nap. It doesn't matter to Cohen if Dog is wet or dry as long as he's there. I loathe the thought of losing Dog. I honestly don't know what we would do. Dog has become such as part of our family, I'm not sure we could recover. On moving day, we realized as were ready to pull out of our Clayton driveway and head to Greenville, that Dog was missing. After a massive search effort, it was discovered that Dog had been left in Aunt Jenn and Uncle Daniel's car. Fully understanding a child's attachment to blankies, it was Uncle Daniel to the rescue. He had just left our house, but turned around and drove back just to deliver Dog. Seth also understands the value of Dog. He was so excited to have found Dog during a recent scouring of Grandma's house for him, he ran dashed to return him to Cohen. Only, instead of handing him to Cohen, Seth accidently tackled him and both he and Dog landed on top of Coey boy.
I've always heard that dog is man's best friend. Funny, I always thought that adage referred to the four-legged kind.
